Yard Waste Collection and EAB
Leaf/yard waste collection – Residents are permitted ten paper bags per week during the months of October and November. If you have more than the allotted number of bags of yard waste, ask a neighbor with fewer bags if you can place yours with theirs or vice versa.
To resolve issues with trash service, Deffenbaugh requests you e-mail them at [email protected]. Service issues should be resolved within 24 hours if reported before 3pm. Otherwise, it will be the following day. You can reach Deffenbaugh customer service at 913 745-1876 should e-mail contact fail to resolve the problem.
Remember to keep leaves out of storm gutters. It could potentially cause flooding and pollute our waterways.
Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is confirmed in our area; Johnson County is now under quarantine. At this point, the EAB is still confined and moving slowly. Help prevent the spread of this destructive insect. Collect or purchase firewood from known local sources. Do not move ash firewood, ash wood products or nursery stock into or out of the county.
